On sector transformation, leadership and building an AI-first foundation.
By Ruud van der Kruk, CEO Blinqx
AI changes everything in your B2B SaaS landscape. Except your customer. Who still wants speed, reliability and advice. But now real-time, personalized and proactive. If you think some loose AI features are enough to make your offering future-proof: No. Then what do you need? In this blog, I share our AI approach at Blinqx. For B2B SaaS leaders who want to stay ahead.
AI as the raison d’รชtre for B2B SaaS companies
What I see in conversations with other SaaS leaders; everyone is noticing that it is shifting. AI is not an extra feature; it gets to the core of your products, your way of working and how customers experience value. I notice it daily myself at Blinqx. We are no longer in a playing field of exciting innovation, but in a redefinition of what software should be able to do. AI is not an add-on. It is the new foundation. Anyone who doesn’t embrace that now is falling behind.
Why AI makes the difference between leadership and disadvantage
As CEO, I look not only at what we deliver today, but more importantly where our value should be tomorrow. Growth is not (only) in optimizing what is already there, but in developing new applications. Customers increasingly expect solutions that think, predict and act. For us, that means: Integrating AI in a way that fits our industry-specific context.
From loose initiatives to an AI-first strategy
At Blinqx, we deliberately took a structural approach. Of course, we started small: a single experiment here, a prototype there. But it soon became clear that this was not the future. That’s why we developed Qore/AI: our central AI ecosystem that brings together customer insights, domain knowledge and technological innovation across our sectors. With this, we build solutions that are scalable while being tailored to the specific requirements of sectors such as Insurance & Mortgage, Legal and Accountancy. Our approach is focused on renewing the value of our offerings: for our client, for their client, and for our own teams.
Using your existing strength
AI-first startups are popping up like mushrooms. But what you have as an established SaaS player is golden! Years of domain knowledge. Data with context. Trust relationships. At Blinqx, we leverage that to the max. We build, test, sometimes fail – together with our clients – and learn from it. Because that’s the only way to keep up with the speed at which the B2B SaaS market is changing.
Pace over perfection
If I have learned anything over the past six months, it is that waiting for the perfect moment is a recipe for stagnation. We’ve learned to work in parallel: validating ideas with customers while exploring technical possibilities. Developing prototypes while thinking about deployment and adoption. And in the meantime: improving our Qore/AI infrastructure step by step. Not everything has to be linear. You just have to start.
An AI-first culture requires choices
AI-first is not an IT project. It is a new way of thinking and working. It starts with the courage to choose. To take direction, even when not everything is certain. At Blinqx, that means involving and enthusing every team, from marketing to finance. Everyone has to understand AI, be able to work with it and see its value. Only then will you make AI a sustainable force within your organization. Also read this blog by our CMO on AI-first working.
The storm is here, choose your course
The B2B SaaS world is turning upside down. You can follow it, or take the lead. At Blinqx, we chose the latter. And I believe that is the only wise choice. So to all B2B SaaS leaders still in doubt: this is the time.

Frequently asked questions about AI in B2B SaaS
Why is AI crucial to the future of B2B SaaS companies?
AI is fundamentally changing how software works, how customers perceive value and how companies differentiate themselves. Instead of generic solutions, customers now expect systems that think, predict and proactively advise. For SaaS companies, this means a shift from “delivering software” to “delivering value through intelligence. Those who do not invest in this now will lose relevance and competitiveness.
What are the first steps to integrate AI into a B2B SaaS organization?
Start small but targeted. Choose one process or customer journey where AI can add immediate value. Involve domain experts as well as test teams. At the same time, build a culture where experimentation is allowed. Finally, make sure your infrastructure is scalable so that successful applications can be developed further. AI integration is not an IT party, it is an organizational culture.
What is Qore/AI and how does it help build an AI-first foundation?
Qore/AI is Blinqx’s central AI ecosystem, designed for secure, scalable and industry-specific AI integration. It connects customer insights, domain knowledge and AI capabilities in a standardized way. This allows new AI functionalities to be quickly developed and deployed across segments. Qore/AI ensures that AI does not remain fragmented across our sectors, but forms the backbone of our AI-first organization.
